Gaadhoo is a small eastern island in Laamu Atoll with a tiny fishing community. Historically, many of Gaadhoo's residents were relocated to Fonadhoo, leading to the expansion of Fonadhoo's village structure. Gaadhoo features minimal infrastructure and offers a truly back-to-basics experience for adventurous visitors. Its pristine natural surroundings, including beaches, lagoon areas, and coral reefs, provide opportunities for snorkeling, fishing, and wildlife observation. Gaadhoo represents the extreme end of peaceful island living in the southern Maldives, where a small community sustains itself through traditional fishing practices.
