Meedhoo is the northernmost inhabited island of Addu Atoll, located on the northeast side adjoining Hulhudhoo, with a traditional fishing community and serene atmosphere.
Meedhoo is one of the inhabited islands of Addu Atoll (Seenu Atoll), located on the northeast side of the atoll adjoining Hulhudhoo to the south. The island is approximately 530 km south of Malé and is the northernmost inhabited island of Addu. Meedhoo has a traditional fishing community maintaining authentic Maldivian island life. The island features a school, health center, and local shops serving its close-knit population. The surrounding waters offer excellent fishing opportunities and access to pristine marine environments. Together with Hulhudhoo, the two islands form the northeastern population center of Addu Atoll, separate from the western connected island chain. Visitors can experience the tranquility of a traditional fishing community, enjoy fresh seafood, and explore the island's beaches and lagoon. Meedhoo is accessible by ferry from Feydhoo and represents the enduring spirit of small island life in the southern Maldives.
